Leaking out of back of valve

Seems like I have a leak out the back of my valve (Where you insert an allen wrench to adjust velocity) when I adjust the velocity over around 230 FPS. Any lower than that and it won't leak.

I'm runing an AIR valve. (field rental version)

I've just bought a Mag repair kit, so I should have anything that I need to fix it.

    Thanks!

You might not. Change the reg piston o-ring first. If you still can't get over 230, you will need a new reg piston.

This seems to be a very frequently asked question, someone should make a sticky thread with symtoms and solutions to the different types of leaking out the valve. (sorry about the OT post)

I had the same problem when I was running HPA, I spoke with a bunch of people and they suggested changing the piston.. I am waiting for my tank to be hydro'd and then I can let you know how it worked..

With the valve Degassed just unscrew the velocity adjust nut off the back of the valve via with the 1/8" allen wrench. When you remove this nut you will find the reg piston assm (round brass thing) and a spring pack (not to worry it isn't doing to fly out at you). The reg piston assm could very well be the faulty part causing the leak. I believe they are like $15 at the online AGD store...

Looks like that brass peice is supposed to screw right out...

                Mine isnt!!!

It might not be catching the threads or something, but it doesn't look like it's screwing out!

                Gah.

It doesn't screw out. You have to push the piston out from the opposite side of the threads. I use a dental pick, but anything that will fit in the hole will do.
