Im looking for a gun that I can use for playing in the woods with my friends when I can't get HPA. What mags work with CO2?

It most certainly IS recommended! The clasic Mag valve was designed for co2Originally posted by surfbumif you have a classic valve it would work
but its not recommendedComment

... aaaaand you can just stop right there :)Originally posted by surfbumif you have a classic valve it would work
I run both my Classic 'Mags on CO2 no problem. One of the 'Mags I've ran on CO2 for 12 years since I broke the seal on the box. All you have to do is keep liquid out of the gun. Most of that time I used a simple anti syphon tank with an expansion chamber. I now use remote. either way works fine.
If you're cheap, you can go old school and just put a long hose going from the bottom line into the valve ... long enough to coil around in a circle at least once.Comment

If your bottle is horizontal use a Jtube/anti syphon. Vertical try not to carry your marker with the barrel pointing towards the ground. Don't use a tank cover this will keep your bottle cold and it will take forever to warm up. Try to use the biggest bottle possible it'll keep your bottle from freezing when rapid firing....Originally posted by DeeIm looking for a gun that I can use for playing in the woods with my friends when I can't get HPA. my comment about it not being recommended was in regards to the fact that liquid CO2 is very bad for the valve so if you have HPA you dont have to worry about itOriginally posted by surfbumif you have a classic valve it would work

but yes, if you can keep liquid CO2 out of the gun, there is no reason why you cant use CO2Comment

Peewee, you might not want to mention the fact that you have been playing for "decades" And have Mags really been out that long? In order for you to be playing with mags for decades in the plural form, you would have to been playing wit them since 1986, and that would make 20 years, but if you started in 1987, your still working on decade 2 :POriginally posted by peeweeI have ran classic /lvl7 mags on co2 for over a decade. My son plays with a classic & co2.Comment

ive been thinking about putting a lever action Horizantal 12 gram right into the valve 1/8npt, do you think the 12 gram changer should incorporate a expansion chamber to hopefully prevent liquid Co2 or does anyone else have a suggestion (besides running it off a vert foregrip.
Its a pump mag with Lvl 7 so i dont exactly shoot fast. at all.Comment

Great idea for keeping it warm, but if your playing horizontal or point the barrel towards the ground it will still suck in liquid....Originally posted by JT_10111I just use one of those $20 Electrically heated socks that use a 9v around my tank, keeps it warm, and voids all liquid.Comment

He said "over a decade". That means over 10 years, but presumedly less than 20. I've also been playing with the same 'mag for over a decade on CO2.Originally posted by psychowardenPeewee, you might not want to mention the fact that you have been playing for "decades" And have Mags really been out that long? 12 gram cartridges don't need expansion chambers, they're all gas inside as far as I know. A lever action quick changer won't be strictly stock class legal if that's what you're shooting for. The cartridge has to be changed through the threads.Originally posted by cowboy_00ive been thinking about putting a lever action Horizantal 12 gram right into the valve 1/8npt, do you think the 12 gram changer should incorporate a expansion chamber to hopefully prevent liquid Co2 or does anyone else have a suggestion (besides running it off a vert foregrip.

I did the same thing with a 12 gram cartridge changer, but I didn't connect it directly to the valve ... if I fell and it got hit, I might damage the valve. The two particular 12 gram changers I have are both 1 inch outside diameter. Quite common from what I can tell. I used a 1 inch scope ring to mount it to a classic rail, and then used a hose to connect it to the valve.
It gets really really cold and stops working. If you're lucky, you'll see dry ice snow shoot out of the barrel.Originally posted by PatGOut of curiousity sake, what are the symptoms if a 'Mag is starting to suck in liquid Co2? Thanks.Comment
