    Uneducated and Need Help

    Hi Guys,

I recently purchased a used mag to mess around with and re-introduce myself to paintball. I got it in the mail and gassed it up. It seemed at first the ASA was leaking a little bit. I dryfired it a couple times and seemed to take care of the problem. I shot maybe a dozen 'balls and all of a sudden it just starts spewing gas out of everywhere...the barrel, the powerfeed, the ASA, I believe out of the back of the valve, and probably anywhere else it could find an oraface to come out of.

As I said I am new to 'Mags and am working on getting a manual. In the mean time, could you give some tips or pointers to maybe help me get this fixed and taken care of? The marker is a regular automag, powerfeed, with a classic valve. No special bolts or anything like that. Very simple set-up (hence I thought it would be perfect to start on!)

Thanks again in advance. Take care.

    Finest Regards,
    PatG.

    Hm.... gas out of everywhere....

Well, I guess a good place to start would be to check out the online manual: http://www.airgun.com/Images/automan.pdf

    See what it says.

I don't remember what all the manual suggests, but here are some additional suggestions: (Someone will disagree with me on the order of them i'm sure, and they will probably be right, but here is a list):
    * Reg seat (unscrew the two halves of the valves, put in a new reg seat.
-Gas it back up, give us a report on where the gas leaks from now.

    * Then probably on/off valve o-rings. Make sure they are absolutely perfect. If any knicks or flatness, replace.
-Gas it back up, give us a report on where the gas leaks from now.

    * then probably powertube o-ring (the one that actually sits inside the powertube, not the one that is on the powertube tip)
-Gas it back up, give us a report on if and where gas still leaks

Oh yes, and make sure the valve is well oiled. If not, place some into the two holes on the bottom of the vlave, as well as a few drops in the air fitting going into the valve. Then take out your barrel and shoot about 15 shots, see if the leaks change at all.
