New Xmag owner needs some advice

I recently purchased this mag from M.Don:

Great gun and a pleasure to play with. But there is still alot of room for improvement. With the dye throttle stubby tank the trigger was not really responsive, and the marker is a bit to close to my mask, sometimes bumping against it (maybe 0.5 inch more clearance will do it)
At home i hooked up a maxflo manifold setup to this marker, and upped the pressure to 1000 PSI. The marker would fire, but then the trigger would not return and the gun started leaking out of the barrel while the pressure stayed at 800 PSI. Cutting off the pressure and putting it back on after it dropped to 400 psi recocks the gun and stops the leak, but aren't mags supposed to work best with high pressures?

If i adjust the maxflo to 800 psi i get a really good responcive trigger, almost full auto! But if i up the pressure over that, the gun won't recock and starts leaking out of the barrel.... Maybe this is normal, but this is my very first mag, so i was wondering if this is normal. What other adjustable regs are also good? I am looking for a compact system, and less bulky than a maxflo manifold.

This mag has an emag valve btw.

I have also a warp with this mag. Haven't played with it yet since i do not have a brace to hook it to my gun yet... What would you recommend? Vibration sensor, or interface cable?

Also, M.Don helped me out greatly with some extra stuff, but i do need some spares... I cannot buy from AGD USA directly, and AGDE's webshop looks like it has not been updated in years, so i'm a bit reluctant to order there. What would you keep in stock for spares?

With this i mean stuff like o-rings, and other stuff that could break during play. I don't like being caught short-handed on the field, and i always have spares in stock for the guns i have, except this mag. Just the basics, what would you take with you when you go play?

I am also thinking of getting the xmod programmer, but it's a bit expensive for just a programmer and the software for free... but maybe i'll pick one up.

    Questions:

    - Adjustable reg, preset, what would you recomend and why?
    - Warp recomendations: vibration or cable?
    - What spares to get in stock?
    - Best place to order? (shipping to the Netherlands)
    - Upgrades?

    Thanks for looking and posting!

Spares - get a full RT parts kit. Make sure there are a few quad orings in it. Get some extra LVL10 carrier orings as well.

Warp - Get the Intellifeed link. It works very well

I use a Centerflag 201 adjustable tank on all of my mags when I can. Very good flow rate, no other reg made my old RT bounce like it did.

Contact Tunaman for whatever parts you need. Im sure he can hook you up.

The Xmod - I cannot say enough good things about it. By far the best upgrade for the mag since the lvl10. You may need to learn a little bit more about your gun before you install it. Sometimes there is some mechanical tweeking needed, especially on older guns. Study the threads in Deep Blue to learn more.

With the Xmod you no longer need to rely on 'trigger bounce' to get high rates of fire.

BTW, what software version do yo have on that, and does the ACE work?

As far as the tank, if you are using the gun in E-mode, you shouldnt have any problems with responsiveness, but if you are gonna be using the gun in mech, I would reccomend picking up a Flatline, also, WARPED1 is selling an AA Raptor for a very good price, but it needs a Hydrohttp://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=197752 those are good tanks, although they dont have output pressure gauges, but for that price, you cant complain. I didnt use a warp for very long on my X-mag, but I couldnt stand the little cable from the frame to the warp, so I just went with vibration, and had no problems at all. For repairs, pick up an RT Parts kit from somewhere, and that will provide you with the O-rings and what not that you will need. The best upgrade I can reccomend is the Tunablade trigger from Tunaman. He has a thread in the Dealers forum, very nice trigger and easy install. I honestly dont see the point in the X-mod (sorry Lornecash) but I never play with anything but Semi, so if you are wanting modes to play with, it would be a great upgrade.

Software 3,2 and yes the ace works. 0= disabled, 1= single color ball, 2= two colored ball.
The mag will not fire in electro mode with ace set to 1 or 2 and no ball in the breach.

Thanx for all the advice, i'll send tunaman a pm when i have my shopping list ready!

Man, of all the markers i owned and played with, this is really the best one... Switching from mechanical to electro is the way for me since i play woods and sup'air (airball) and with woods i have a tendency to shoot way more paint then needed... The mechanical mode fixes that for me, but in woods it is kinda fun to let somebody sprint for a bunker only to be caught in your stream of balls...

It's overkill for woods, and with only mechanical i played about 4-5 games on one hopper... Never had that when i used my e-cocker or DM4 for woods... I thought of getting a minimag for woods so my paint consumption would go down, but after using my xmag, i don't have a need for it anymore... Thanx AGD, for making this excellent marker!

I am not a trouble shooting expert, but have you oiled the marker? If not run some AGD oil thru it.
          enjoy the Xmag.

First thing i done when i got it was lubricate it and test fire... And after a day of play, i cleaned it and lubed it again... The gun works fine, but not with pressures exceeding 850 psi.
Don't have any autolube here, but i use empire oil for blow back semi's at the moment.

hey what's an X-mag? is it better than a pneumag?

yah 800 is the best pressure for an automag. atleast it is for my mag, I don't know what an X-mag is so I'm not sure if the pressure would be different or not.

If it's better than a pneumag, i'm not the person to say that... I have a Xmag and a micromag, but no pneumags. I like it tho, but it's personal choice.

cool site. alot of the links don't work but there's some sweet pictures. so the X-mag is electro then? I prefer to stay mech. is there somewhere I can send my gun and have it turned into a pneumag?
