    Dented minimag body

I just picked up bucket's polished minimag with blue splashed parts and the minimag body is dented at the shroud. I can't get the barrel in. I was wondering what would be the best way to get the dent out. Or would I have to chop the shroud all together. I have been searching for a nice minimag for a while and I really want to keep the minimag body.

I'll get some pics up soon.

Best way if you like the MM body is to buy another one. The sell here for 15-20....

well for cars they use dent-poppers or they super heat the dent until it is easy to bend so they can bend it back into place then throw some water on it and it freezes right there

So, the end where the barrel goes in is dented? If you mean that the very end is no longer round, I may have an idea. Find a wooden rod that is a bit bigger around than the body. Work it down so that the end will fit into the body, and gradually get bigger. Sharpen the end a bit. Get a hammer, and try pounding the dowel in and see if it forces it back into round. Just an idea.

I think I can get access to the school gym's tools, so i might be able to try heating it up with a torch. If that doesnt fly then I'll give the wooden stick thing a whirl.

I would just buy another body for $15. You won't get it straight with a torch, and the wood may work but it will not be easy.

Man if i could find a minimag body for 15 bucks id be all over it. Yea right now im more worried about getting it functional.

Pics will be up this weekend so everyone can bask in my misery.

Also if the dent is the result of the person not packing it well (or maybe it was dented all along and he didn't tell me...i can't tell), do you think he should be responsible for the damage?

You can also try to find a socket in standard or metric the same size outside diameter as the inside diameter of your MM body and pound it through

yep its just a regular minimag body. I'm working on getting pics. I going to buy another body but I definitely am going to try something to fix this one. Its polished a lot nicer than the one I am going to get.

It's the mag from this thread

now picture a big dent on the front right end...yea it hurts just to think about it.
