Most logical steps for setting up my gun.

I deleted my other post because I realized I wasn't asking what I really wanted to know.

I was wondering what the most logical steps would be to set up a new Classic valve / Hyperframe / Level 10 combination and avoid chewing up the level 10 bolt. Now, I thought what I did was logical; which was to set up the Hyperframe with a level 7 bolt first, get the on/off pin length correct so it doesn't chew up the bolt (it chewed up 1 bolt already) and then after getting the gun to shoot perfect, add the level 10. I did that, however the level 10 bolt is getting chewed up now. Only a little, I was at least smart enough to check it after 5 or 6 shots. Obviously, that's not the best way to do it.

Should I instead set up the level 10 first ... leaving out the Hyperframe and using the stock trigger frame until it's worn in and tuned up? After that, should I ditch the Hyperframe on/off and go with a ULT? Keep in mind it's a classic valve.

    Thanks!

well, think about this, if your bolt is getting chewed up, the sear is either not clearing it, or your dwell is too low and they arent playing nicely. Might also want to look at the noid pin, it may be mushroomed, or too short.

Also talk to Centerflag. They are very helpful and might have the answer you are looking for.

        Coralis:

I'm using a Centerflag on / off. I had 3 different lengths that came with the Hyperframe, but the Classic valve is a newer one and doesn't seem to have the depth issues the article refers too, at least with the "stock" length it doesn't chew up the level 7 bolt.

I hadn't thought about dwell, I'll keep that in mind. I haven't looked at the solenoid pin yet, but the Hyperframe was new in box when I got it. I haven't changed any of the settings (yet) and she's probably only got about 2000 shots on her. I'll definitely contact Centerflag and see what they can do to help ... I just put this gun together, with a Warp Feed no less, for the AONE game tomorrow and I was hoping to use it. Oh well, next year (c:

Rule of thumb has been that if you are getting bolt damage to raise the dwell. Raise it between 15 and 20 ms and try it.

you can only raise the dwell if it has the 20 bps board ...

and the longer the pin the less likely it will cause damage to the bolt

Unfortunately, I have one of the original 13 BPS boards.

yeah i do too but its not that unfortunate if you have a classic valve mag its rated for around 15 bps so its a good match for the 13 bps hyperframe .... and try the longest pin and see if that helps
