I just bought a new reg seat for my classic, because I thought it was causing a leak, but it didn't fix it. It is leaking from what sounds like the middle of the valve somewhere, but I can't fix it anymore because I lost an o-ring in the on/off and need to get a new one first. The problem is that I heard somewhere that if you take the valve apart (unscrew the regulator) that this can make the reg seat leak because it will move and break the seal. I only shot 5 shots or so through it with the new reg seat and it still leaked, so is it okay for me to take the valve apart or will I need a new reg seat after that?
Can I do this?

The new regulator seat will be fine. It gets formed over time. Don't move it from its position in the valve just in case.
Leaking into the frame area is usually a bad lower on-off oring. There are two, one inside and one out side of the lower on-off assembly.
Another source of valve leaking is a bad regulator piston assembly oring (one around the reg piston assembly).
You should keep a complete oring kit on hand for any oring emergencies.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
