    MPA-3 acting funny?

Ok so I'm a bit new to the pneumag, but I am completley familiar with how it works.

After completing the MPA-3 conversion into a ram like object, i noticed that the plunger is really tight when i put it back in. The only way it moves back an forth is if I force it. Is it supposed to be like this? I've worked with pneumatics when I had my autococker for a few years and I know that nothing ever "stuck".

I removed the black o-ring on the plunger and placed everything beck inside and it moves around just fine. I know I need the o-ring to make a seal. Should I just buy another mpa-3 and try it again? Also should i leave the spring in it or not?

I have all the parts, I just havent installed them due to my situation. let me know....

The plunger should move pretty easy, even with the springs and once you have a piston in there. I can pull mine with my finger tips. Maybe you defrormed the plunger when you attached the piston to it?

A little autolube wont hurt it. Come to think about it, I dont think anything really will.

i tried it both with the spring in and out, and I tried using my paintball oil. The only thing I can think of is that the o-ring got swollen. I think it will be fine w/o the oring though. It will leak hardcore when I pull the trigger, but it will stil lget the job done. I dunno, i can test all this when i get my tank back form the re-hydro place.

can we get a picture down the bore to see for out of roundness? if you clamped it too hard it would definately bend.

I havent clamped it yet, thats the deal. I havent installed it due to the fact that the plunger is sticking. I can try to get a pic up, but it will be after 8 pm tonight.

alright I took out the entire ram/plunger assembly to find that I indeed have mildly deformed the plunger. I cannot confirm the swollen o-ring theory yet, I will when I get another.
