broken powertube Tip on LVL 10

Well, I sold a LVL 10 kit to a friend, and after playing with it a few times the powertube tip apparently broke off right at the base, and the threaded part of the tip was left in the powertube. I'm sending him a new one tomorrow morning, but i'm curious as to what may have caused this and if there is a way to avoid it happening in the future. Thanks for any help guys.

dropping it on the ground? i dont think the power tube tip gets any really heavy pressure put on it.

I know, that's why I was so surprised when he told me what happened. He said he took the valve out to clean it after a day of playing, and the tip just came off.... Anybody else got any ideas?

well mabey from that i'd say unscrewing it with a wrench, screwed it too tight or bent it with the wrench... guessing
