    question about freak kit!

    hi,

i just got my freak kit with stainless steel back. i have two problems. number one, the insert that i've put in is stuck and refuses to come out. is this normal? number two, when i insert the barrel and twist to lock it into position in my minimag, the barrel will not turn all the way and instead my ball breach is partially covered because the barrel refuses to turn all the way. i've tried oiling down the barrel at the end which is inserted into the mag, but this has not done anything. all my other barrels go in and turn all the way without any problems. i don't want to return the stainless steel back, but it looks like i might have to. needless to say, this whole experience is frustrating me. any help is appreciated.

    aloha,

In the Mag freak you have to of course take the frount of it off and pull out the insert try twisting it with your finger and pulling. also you tryed to put the bareal in a differt slot I think thay have more than one. Have fun.

      thanks

      hey lala,

thanks for your help. while i'm still struggling with the insert, i've managed to loosen it up a little. in addition, i've figured out why my barrel wouldn't turn all the way. for some odd reason, the screw that attaches the front of my grip frame to the main body was on too tight so it was preventing the barrel from turning. loosening that up allowed me to turn the barrel all the way. yay!

The insert should slide out easily from the front. Its not normal for it to be stuck.

i'm having the same problem. i can't get the insert out no matter how hard i try. i think i might have to kill the insert. it went it kind of rough, but it always came out before. now it's in there pretty good.

If the barrel wont turn once you got it on, loosen the front grip frame screw. You also might have it in the wrong slot.

              hawpunch,

ive found that the front grip screw sticks out a little too far in 2 of my mags...it causes the barrel to go in kind rough, and really refuses to let it come out...i just got another washer and put it where the existing one is on the front grip screw.

on a regular mag, you can stick your finger down the body, and feel where the screw sticks out a bit...this is kinda tough to do with a minimag, though

Easy fix on the sticking insert, oil up the outside of the insert a little, and oil up the oring inside the steel back, after doing this, my inserts went in and out perfectly...

i got pretty fed up with the stuck insert so i've sent it back to paintballgear.com for a full refund. i'm going to wait for now until the price comes down on them...i'll just settle for a boomie. i'm glad that a lot of the other owners are not having the same problems and enjoying their set. hey thebigragupb4l, i hope you get your problem fixed. definately give smart parts a call...when i was talking to the paintballgear.com guy, he suggested it.

                          hey law,

actually there is...and i did put it in correctly. it just didn't want to come out. i figured if it was going to give me that much grief, i'll just wait. besides, i've never used a boomie yet, and i've been hearing so many good things about those barrels, so it gives me a chance to try one out :).

You gotta oil the inserts on the freak before the first time you use it. Those orings are tight to keep the insert from not aligning properly with the tip.
