    Air tank reg question

I've got a steel 47/3000 crossfire tank. Can the reg from that tank be used on a larger carbon fiber tank? Also would I have to have certified "airsmith" have to do it or could I do it myself? Furthermore, if I were to do it myself, would I have to use a special kind of thread sealant?

    Thanks.

Yes it will work on a larger tank as long as the threads are the same. It will only be rated at 3000 psi even if you put it on a tank rated at 4500 psi.

Don't use thread sealer. Tighten using the proper recommended torque as per manufacturers specs.

Only work on it if you are very familiar with this type of system. Otherwise, have it done by a certified airsmith. Compressed air is very dangerous if misused. That being said, those transporting bottles by airplane have to remove their bottles from the regulators all the time.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

also theres a certain tool you hav to use to get your reg off the tank,it has to heat up a a plastic clip that holds it together.once that done youd be smooth sailin, until you seee an iccceberg up ahead that takes the shape ofth e plastic clip being needed to be put in and hold it together again.
