I don't mean to be rude, but how many of you have actually tried triple regulation. Personally, the statement that triple regulation causes shootdown would mean more coming from someone that has actually experienced it.

I've experienced it on a defiant, using triple regulation with a preset, not on a Mag which does have a better main reg, but if you look at the recharge graphs for Mags, you'll see that they recharge faster to full pressure with higher input. Any restriction will slow down the flow of air, this means another regulator will slow you down. It may not be apprecialbe depending on how good the reg is. Black ICE perhaps, and depending on how good your fingers are.

I've experimented with it with a daul regulated nitro duck tank and a vigilanty reg I found that if your third reg ie the vigilanty is set low about 600 - 700psi it will cause shoot down at about 10 shots per sec. sense you have a *edit* When you signed up, you agreed to NOT cuss....DO IT nitro tank a vigilanty reg by air america would help prevent hot shots but not drop offs I would set it at no less than 700 psi though by the way I've been running my mag on 900 - 1000 psi sense I've owned it about 1 year and I never have problems.

oh yeah just to tell you don't run a vigilanty with co2 they hate it and personally I'd save my money for a better nitro tank instead of a third reg its redundant I would never recomend a third reg for a mag or even a second for co2

I have (I borrowed a HPA tank and didn't want to disconnect the reg from my remote setup). I noticed a little shoot down (not bad). It was not as consistent over the chrono with the third reg as it was without.

BTW, I don't shoot all that fast as shoot down doesn't bother me as I'm use to it anyway.

The way I understand it is as long as the input to the A.I.R. is not too low shootdown should not be an issue. That is not counting insanely fast electro triggers which I do not have. I was thinking of 600 psi or so, maybe 550, has anyone tried it that low?

Below ~575 it becomes an issue an an RT Pro, for me anyways. I'm using a Crossfire Preset at 850 now, so that doesn't matter.

On an AIR type valve I've never tried it.

So it worked at about 575? How was shootdown? Also, what kind of reg were you using?

Thank you Paintchucker, that is the first real definite answer I have had to my original question.

I was using an Air America, Vigilante, screwed into a vertical ASA. It worked fine, no shootdown, but I didn't notice any improvement in consistency or efficiency, so I got rid of it.
