    Emag skipping

I have a emag that seemed to be working fine for most of the day.

I did eat up a bumper, and the lvl 10 wore in and had a slight barrel leak midway throught he day. I replaced the bumper, and didnt worry about the leak - all day air so it didnt matter.

What I did run into was the gun started skipping. I would rapid fie the trigger, and sometimes it wouldpartially advance the bolt and not fire, it was almost an every other shot type of thing depending what angle I held the gun at.

I was thinking lvl 10 shim issue, but I am not sure. Anyone else ever suffer from this problem?

    Thanks

Shims might help if it pinches and doesn't reset. If it is not fully firing in the first place, it is another problem.

It could be possible that your carrier is too tight but was working ok until the lubrication was reduced by use. The leak could be caused by too many shims if this were the case. Try resizing your carrier without any shims in the powertube.

If it is firing and not resetting, especially at higher rates of fire, check your bolt spring. If it is weakened due to age and wear, then it needs to be replaced. The bolt spring is a consumable item in mags.

Hopefully one or more of the above suggestions helps you out.

Carrier is not the problem, I actually had to driop down a carrier to get the leak to stop.

I ran out of air before I coudl test, but I also dropped down to 1 shim in the kit to see if that helps as well.

Hopefully it will work, its not my gun, and I dont want to be accused of breaking it when I barrowed it.

Actually, if there are too many shims, it may seem like a carrier leak when in fact it is a shim induced leak. This usually occurs if the vent hole is on the edge of the carrier oring. A tight carrier stops the leak by putting excess pressure on the oring and forcing it over the hole, but causes the gun to be inconsistent when firing.

Have you changed the bolt spring yet? That can be a major cause of firing malfunctions on a used mag.
