you cna buy home kits. its not an extreamly crazy process. i was going to get a kit this summer but i couldnt pull togeather the cash or space for it.

you clean the piece, etch the piece in caustic soad, rinse, ano in sulfuric acid, rinse, color, rinse, and seal (some people said to use a special chem to seal others said just cold water IIRC so im not sure which one is relaly better and for what)

its not to complicated just something that takes time, money, saftey, trail and error, and saftey. o and dont forget the saftey.

caswell inc has home kits for about 350ish i think

Just found all the supplies i'd need locally. Should try the firt coupla runs tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes and hopefully post pics within the next coupla days. If all goes well through the testing hopefully I'll have a completely custom colored ULE Y-Gripped mag in a coupla weeks... Most of the process is compiled from google searches. Warpig had an ok walk through, among a few others. Search "anodize at home" or something on google and you'll see it's not too difficult. Mainly it'll take time, safety, trial and error, error, error, safety, trial and error and safety. Got nothing to do until i head back to college so.....

I've done some home ano myself. If you buy the chemicals separately, it's way less then $350. Really the only expensive part is the power source (which is not part of the caswell kit)

And without a good power source, you'll get usatisfactory results.

It can be done at home...and it was...

your anno is NOT the same, just a close resemblence.

and by the size of your pics...we could never tell...

Number one, it would have to be custom anno as eclipse never released a PTP micromag in that anno(nor did ptp to my knowledge). Two, Everyone needs to stop making atatements out of there bum's about annodizing on this forum unless theyve done anno themselves.

Thats a very nice job, and im shure it took a considerable amount of practice to come anywere near getting something to look that good. What happend with the feedneck though?

Shame its PF, i preffer the verts myself
