    Automag Regulator Question

I have a Tac One(with x-valve) and am considering purchasing a max-flow regulator for it. I understand that with the input pressure cranked up high(950+) I can get super fast RT bounce/reactive firing.

I play mainly scernarios and outlaw/rec games and just wanted to have some additional firepower under my belt in case I ever needed it.

I have a few questions regarding using a mag with this regulator.

    1. Does anyone have any experience with a Smart Parts Max-Flow? How does it perform?

2.Is there a difference between the old style and new style max-flows's??

    3. Does anyone run their mag on a adjustable reg?? How do you like it?
Will it shoot too fast-too outta controll?

    4.Is $150 a good price for a used 68/45 carbon fiber w/max-flow reg attached(old style)?

    5. Is the reg durable? I play in the rain, snow, mud.

6.Would I just be better off getting a ULT trigger?

If anyone is selling an adjustable reg hit me with a PM cause I got cash and am looking to buy one. Doesnt have to be a max-flo.

    thanks alot - Phantom

Adjustable Regulators are key to great performance and adjustability of the speed of the RT effect. I own and use both a Dynaflow by Centerflag and an old style SP Max-Flow regulators. My main gripe with the Max-Flow is its size and bulk. Where the Dynaflow is nice compact light and has an integrated rail mounting system.

I personally have not noticed a difference between the recharge rates of either, hwoever tests have shown that the recharge rate of the dynaflow is superior.

This monday I had to keep turning down my pressure to find a speed at which my Halo B (stock) was not being outrun.

I have also heard a rather long list of bad and not so good reviews and experiences with the NitroDuck series of adjustable regulators. Not to mention I have seen a few parks where they will refuse to even fill a tank with a Nitroduck regulator installed on it (Hollywood Sports). The main gripe with them being that they are incapable of being turned up over 800-850ish even though they claim that they do. I am not familiar as to why they are not filled at certain parks and or PB stores, probably hasta do with some safety liability.

The AGD Flatlines have gotten good reviews and seem nice and small, however I personally do not like thier mounting system. At least on thier older style models. Which is a wrap around the regulator clamp type deal.

The newer SP Max Flows which are much smaller and are an inline style much like the Flatlines and Dynaflows seem nice, however I am not sure of thier recharge rates, but I beleive they have a nice feature being that they are capable of being able to remove the regulaor from the tank itself rather easily for airport security. (Someone correct me if I am wrong and enlighten us as to the proper model with this feature).

Hope this helps you out in a decision in making a purchase.

I use an inline MaxFlo on my RT Pro and it keeps up well. I have a ULT, so I don't have the same reactive bounce as the previous author. I run it at about 900 psi and have no shootdown issues. Consistency is good and the tank does unscrew from the reg if you were to travel with it by plane.
