I bought an x-mag off of here and i went to turn it on today and the power wouldnt go on,i saw but it was very dim low battery on the display for a second then it went out.(X-Mod 1.7) I recharged the battery only took around 20 minutes, thought that was kinda fast, put battery back on marker ,turned it on,nothing happened.i opened the grips to look for a loose wire and when i took off the grip that doesnt have the display on it there is a yellow wire thats not connected to anything.Could this be the reason its not working? I know nothing about X-Mags..Thanks for your time...

Take a picture of the internals of the grip and where the wire is.
Also, it usually takes about 4 hours for a battery to totally charge. About 1 for a 80% charge. That might be why it was low after 20 minutes. -
the battery was fully charged when i got the marker a couple of days ago,i put it on the charger the light was red and then after about 20 minutes it turned green.Comment

If its the yellow wire that is in the same connector as the red and black then its the signal wire. It has to be resoldered.Comment

Ok so when you got this, was the Xmag to have a working ACE board or did it have a yellow pin in the bat pack? If it was claimed to have a working ACE then that yellow wire is supposed to be soldered to the 10th hole up from the bottom on the front of the mainboard. You can see the open spot there in the pic, there is no solder there. That yellow wire is a 5 volt source for the Ace on/off switch. If you are attempting to fix it, disconect the battery and pull the mainboard out. If it was said the ACE didn't work, maybe that was disconected on purpose, but the wire should not be free like that. It may fry something.Originally posted by sneekyhunterhere is a pic of the unattached wire.

Edit: From that pic it looks like it is that 5v wire coming down from the ACE board.Last edited by A-Tach-One; 09-10-2006, 12:30 PM.Comment

Could be the xmag or the charger. Did the battery feel warm after you charged it? If you have a voltmeter measure how many volts your getting out of the charger and battery. The charger should be around in the 20s or so and the battery should be alittle bit above 16 or 16volts.Comment

the battery had the little yellow post in it and the person i bought it from said yes,the ace works on it.I checked the battery and it is fine and the charger is brand new..I never even used the marker yey i got it on tuesday or wendsday and went to use it Saturday and it didnt work.if that wire that was just sitting loose in the frame like that and touched the frame would it have fried my board when i turned it on? Thanks for your help people,it is greatly appreciated.Comment

Left you an answer in your other thread, basically if the ACE was to work and with that yellow wire not hooked up, the mainboard will not power up.Originally posted by sneekyhunterthe battery had the little yellow post in it and the person i bought it from said yes,the ace works on it.I checked the battery and it is fine and the charger is brand new..I never even used the marker yey i got it on tuesday or wendsday and went to use it Saturday and it didnt work.if that wire that was just sitting loose in the frame like that and touched the frame would it have fried my board when i turned it on? Disconnect battery
Remove mainboard
Resolder 5v yellow wire to the 10th post from the bottom (in that pic you suppled)
Put mainboard back in and make sure ground screw is secure
Put battery back on and test
Let us know what happens
