    X-valve probelms

I just got a new X-valve and i tried playing with it but couldn't get it to shoot. the sear was active (pushing on the trigger) but i would pull the trigger and it wouldn't fire. I was pushing in the back screw thing and after a little it started leaking from the barrel and so i un screw it back until it stops leaking. but I don't know what to do now. And one more thing is that how you adjust the velocity?

My guess is that you may need to tune the lvl10 bolt a bit. Not sure what to do since i'm no expert, and relatively new to mags. The valve starts leaking if input pressure is to high, and lowering the pressure will stop it. Yes, the round knob with the hex at the back of the valve is used for adjusting the velocity.

As far as tuning the LVL 10, start here http://www.automags.org/resource/level10/index.shtml . If you turn the velocity knob on the back of the valve and it starts leaking from the front, this means that you need to tune the LVL 10. Perfectly normal. If there is pressure on the trigger and it won't fire, this generally means that you need to increase the velocity. If it leaks from the back, where you adjust the velocity, this means that the reg piston needs to be replaced.

or your volocity is to high, tune level 10 so there is no bolt leak then chrono, if you are at a reasonable volocity and it still leaks out the back then you need a new reg pistion.
oh and feed that thing TONs of oil.

generally with new valves not firing - just oil, then turn velocity up until it fires (then you can back it out to under 300 fps).

            other quick fixes:

leak in barrel - get a smooth fitting carrier (snug, but not loose).

make sure there are 2 shims in the power tube, that generally works well.

use short, golden, LX spring to start with/tune.

oil the on/off (ULT or w/e)
