Ok so I've recently switched over my Lvl 10 from a classic valve w/RTP on/off to a ReTro valve. When reading the instruction on the Lvl 10 initially, it said to start out with 2 shims, so thats what I did and I've left them in there ever since. Now the problem I have run into with the classic and now the ReTro is, that if I put the slightest amount of pressure on the trigger, it will break the seal and air will start leaking down the powertube. Does having the shims there have anythig to do with this? If I take away the shims, can I rest my finger on the trigger and not have to worry about losing air, which usually means lost velocity? Thanks for your help.

Took out both shims, and I think it solved the problem. Made the trigger alittle snappier and no leaks from the powertube.Comment

You are correct. Removing shims puts more distance between where the bolt vent hole rests and the edge of the powertube (carrier) oring. That way you can move the sear a slight bit without allowing the bolt vent hole from becoming exposed and releasing air.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment
