AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Anything you sand could end up being ruined if you are not careful. Don't be discouraged though. Its not that hard to hone a barrel. We used to do it all the time 20 years ago. Back then we thought it was the smoothness of the barrel that made the gun more accurate. It turned out, by making the barrel id bigger, it had less negative impact on the ball.
Buy a good honing tool that fits your barrel. They usually have a range of sizes that they fit. Make sure you use a fine grit to maintain a smooth bore. Most honing tool can be turned using a drill. As you hone, move the tool back and forth in the barrel to provide consistent removal of inner diameter throughout the entire length of the barrel. Constantly check the id with calipers to make sure you don't remove too much metal. The inner bore will be more prone to damage after you remove the annodize. Either reannodize it for protection, or be careful not to dent it or scratch it.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
Brake Cylender hones that attach to power drills I think would work very well, just remember to lube generously, transmission fluid if i recall is best to use with the types of stones on a brake cylender hone.
