    how good are the micromags?

i am considering buying a used micromag from a buddy, but it does not have a barrel and the trigger sticks, are these good guns with parts readily available? i'm not worried about having to repair it, i'm pretty good with take down and replacing things, i was wondering how much a gun like this would be worth or would it be better to just buy something else, i already have a cheap stingray II so this would be an upgrade that will just be used rarely for paintball matches with friends.

Pro Team Products Micromags are the same valve as an Automag, but have 'cocker threads for the barrel.
Valve and trigger are easy to clean up if it's sticky. Maybe change an O-ring or two, rebuild kits are on almost every store shelf. And with a decent barrel it's much, MUCH better than a Stingray.

<edit to add> I bought one new early '04 with the Jungle Nights anno for my daughter, I think I paid $475 at the store. Probably less now, but she loved it even more with the level 10 kit...

thanks for the info guys i ended up getting it for $50 but it doesnt have a barrel or tank or hopper, it only came with a Pro-Dot Red Dot sight. i'll post some pics up here later to see what you guys think. where is the best place to get barrels and hoppers for it?

That's very similar to mine, except mine has micromag vertical ASA instead of the integrated gas through, plus mine has the detent assembly machined as part of the body where yours is bolt on.

The Armson sight used to come with the micromag as an advanced package upgrade. They are worth a bit by themselves.

If you get a level 10 upgrade, you may have to sand the tip of the bolt a bit. The inside diameter of the breach is a bit tighter on these guns. It will work though.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Mine was similar to that. I found that the fit between the power feed and the body became sloppy over time. I fixed that with some JB Weld. Also, be sure not to screw in the screws that retain the detend. They will interfer with the bolt if they are over tightened.

I sold mine and even inspite of those two minor problems, I wish that I had not sold it.
I'm a lefty that plays with an old school RT with H/L. I bought a warp and all is right with the world.
