I'm new here and have a question.

I've been playing paintball for some time and up until recently have only owned a semi-auto open bolt, blow-back type marker. I'd like to know if there is any way to fully de-gas a marker once the tank valve is closed without damaging the o-ring. I know how to do it with any open-bolt marker but not a mag.

Some guys put a slidecheck in line somewhere. I usually dry fire until it stops shooting. There is some residual pressure, but not much.

Thanks. I may look into a slide check. I was asking because I don't want to have to replace tank o-rings constantly.

i do it the same way
shoot as fast as you can as u take the tank off. if u got full auto put it on and hold the trigger as u take the tank off if not just shoot lots as u take it off

or...you can remember where the tank starts to open up, and then unscrew it to about this point....then shoot it....you'll probably get about 3 shots with the residual pressure in the line...(depends on gun setup) then just unscrew it the rest of the way out...

This is the correct way to do it... slide check will degass your gun, but not your ASA.

I use a cp 2k5 on off. When you turn off the asa it degass the marker. On my mag, once the air let out, there is none left in.

Yeah, an on/off ASA works wonders. Mind you not all of them will vent so you turn it off, dry fire a couple of times and you're good to go.

I use one on my mag too, and it's great. Very smooth and the de-gas feature is great. If this residual pressure is a big problem for you, I would suggest getting one
