I have an older 47/3000 Crossfire tank that is leaking out of the fill nipple. Not around it, out of the end. Is fixing this as simple as unscrewing the old one and replacing it with a new one? Is there anything else i should know about before i try and fix it? (I've never done anything with repairing air tanks or regulators, so I don't really know where to begin.) thanks.

The person that filled it probly had dirt in the gas line...you can just unscrew that with a 7/16" wrench and replace it with a new one. Just remember to teflon tape the new fill port. Good luck to you. -

just remember no lube, no oil, no nothing other than a clean fresh oring / fill nipple assembly.

just remember to make sure the tank is completely empty before trying to remove it....i saw a guy one time remove one and apparently there was som pressure left in the tanks and it shot like a freaking bullitComment

you nailed it hvacman. just took off the nipple and the o ring was basically pinched in half.
