    DW CF foregrips

alright this is Probably in the wrong Thread (Moderators please move if this is the case)
But my question is this; you Know those CF foregrips from DW? well does anyone know where or how I can change the CF from the stock grey color to red CF? I really want that foregrip but aesthetically speaking I want it to match the rest of my marker. thus the red.
any help or input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

You can get the Aluminum Parts anodized red. As far as red CF goes, No carbon fiber fiber is red. They just weave other colored types of fiber in with the CF to tint it.

You'd have to email or PM Nicad (owner of DW) and see if he's ever done a run with a colored weve of CF.

yes, they have the caps in Black, red, and blue. and i understood that its not the Carbon Fiber itself (If I'm not mistaken it's some kind of Kevlar? or some type of other material I'm not sure)
I tried to contactsomebody at DW (can't remember who) but got no response from them. So what I was hoping for was (If I couldn't get it from DW directly) some sort of aftermarket CF in red to put in place of the grey. I'm just not sure if its possible or not, or if I could do it myself!
Sorry for the confusion on the what part I was talking about, I knew what I meant I just didn't explain myself properly.
once again thanks for the input!

You'd have to have DW cure some for you. Or see if Mcmaster carr is stocking any tubes of CF in the right diameter and color... but that's a long shot.

alright I went back to the DW site and all I found for contacts was a Colin and a Travis, I'm thinking it was Colin I tried to contact last time but I'm not sure. so I'll try them again, but I would like to talk to Nicad(?) and see if he's(?) willing to do a run of these or at least make one for me, We'll see!! I am really hoping they will cuz I think that's be looking good

I emailed him the last time I posted....still no word back. should I try them or him again? I don't want to be too big of a pain.... maybe just a minor one but not a big pain.
if necessary I'll buy another stiffi, cut the b**** to the right length, and superglue the caps on!! well not really but it sounded good........or not........

if you can find a piece of CF tubing in the color you want all you have to do is cutt a piece to size, seal the ends and swap it out. all the foregrip is, is (in this order) top cap, cf tube bottom tube with a long screw thru it all.

ok. I didn't realize it was a screw that held it in place, that makes it easier. But I still can't seem to find the CF tubing.....any help? I really don't want to buy another stiffi just to hack it up.

from what ive seen its not the easiest stuff to fine. google carbon fiber tubing and you cna probably at least find the tubing but im not suer if it will come in color. it might be easier to use delrin or get an aluminium tube and get it annoed

I found the tubing and no not in red, after about the 18th page of stuff (most automotive) nad it probably would be easir to use either of those and buy the "Carbon Fiber Tape" to get the look I want....but will the AL or Delrin wiegh + / - / = to/than the CF?It's more than just looks. the CF I know is really light wieght and while AL is too, I believe CF is lighter . so I wanted to get that for wieght as well. if it wieghs the same I might as well retain my Logic gas thru and shut my hole.....

depending on how thick the walls of the al tube are it could be the same or jsut slightly more. delrin though will more than likely be a lot heavier.

you might want to call up stiffi and see if they have a piece of red scrap tubbing (since the shortest piece they use is about 6 inches, also they might have a piece that is defective but would work for you application. some people have managed to break their stiffies out of the backing so some one might have a piece they cant relaly use (look around PBN for this)

well I broke down and ordered the DW CF foregrip yesterday, should be in by about Tuesday. I didn't have any luck finding any red CF tubing to use in my application so its not gonna look as good as I really want it to,I tried DW several different times but never got a response from anyone so I gave up on them helping me at all. However I might just go with my original idea and wrap it with the red CF tape...although I did not try to contact Stiffi either, so I'll try them and see hrmmmmmmm....... but the real question is pretty much just a "what do you guys think?" question, Will the Tape work and will it still look as good as plain CF? Again Thanks to all for their input it has been a Big Help!
(sorry to resurrect a pretty dead thread)

to get it to work well, you probably need to find a way to compress the tape on when you exoxy it on.
