    X-Valve Spring Preference?

Since it has never been explained to me properly, what do the different springs do for you with the x valve?

I have always used the bronze spring with the level 10. What I need is a gun that will be able to have a wide range of chrono from 240 through 290. I play scenario at night many times and that is why I need to chrono down to 250.

Is it true some springs are better on the ball? Others better on bolt stick? I am running an xvalve with bronze spring, 800 psi in from crossfire 45/4500 or nitroduck 800 psi out.

Help please... one of my mags is not running now and although it fires, the bolt stick between shots then resets. So you can shoot it once. Stop. Then again... but no fast firing or it sticks/chuffs out/slowly resets.

    Weird.

If you've got bolt stick, then you need to change the carrier on your Level 10--it's too small. Go up in size by one until you get to one that fits loosely, but doesn't leak. Lube up your valve and you should be good to go after that.

      Thanks Pennywise.

I got it. Is there an advantage to any one spring over the other?

The different size springs are for tuning your Level 10 to your tastes. I can't tell you which one to use. Just experiment with them to find the set-up that works for you.

For a wide variety of velocities that you use, the short "bronze" spring is probably the best one. The longer red and also the gray one will be softer on paint but may not allow your mag to function at lower velocities.

If you are getting bolt stick, then you need the next larger carrier.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Its really wierd though. The marker fires and the bolt resets. And if you fire really slowly (fire - 1 mississippi) then fire again it seems to work. Try to fire faster then it sticks in between pulls. So far, a larger carrier hasnt helped...

I've been having the same problem myself, but I have a spydermag (spyder frame attached a x-valve Tac One). So far I tried with changing the carrier up to one size and lubing the marker. Tried firing, but my Nitro tank ran out in tuning it. So far in what I know it look like it worked. Need to get a refill on the tank. Will see when I try to shoot it with a full air tank.

                ARRRGGHHH!

DUH, I didnt think about it before but I figured it out - it was the trigger!!

I added a couple of shims to the trigger then BOOM! Firing like the beautiful mag that she is. It is alllllll good now. Thanks again guys!!

Ahhh...you never mentioned that you have a ULT. It would have helped to know that from the beginning--

The bronze spring is the default spring, but the red and silver springs may be used in order to be easier on paint. The downside is that since it's a stronger spring, resisting the force of the air pressure(in order to be lighter on paint), you've got to turn your velocity up to use it, or else the spring will be stronger than the air pressure and your bolt won't fully cycle. I think the bronze spring works for about any velocity, the red I believe is 270+, and the silver spring I believe is 290+. I've always used the red spring, and haven't really had trouble keeping it under the limit, just be prepared to swap springs if for some reason you can't.
