Is this a legitimate statement about the X-Valve?

I'm looking at buying a used Mag from another sites BST forums. The seller included this statement in the description.

I tuned it but, having had experience with building and selling online, the rigors of shipping can knock it a little out of whack. By the time it arrives, you may have a slight air leak out the barrel and will probably have to fiddle with the shims in the X-Valve. For those experienced with mags you probably know what I'm talking about. For those that aren't, don't buy blind.
I haven't owned an Automag in about 12 years and it was a Classic Level 5. I would guess that the gun would experience more banging around etc. during actual play than it would during shipping. Is what this seller is saying true and if so, what is involved in "fiddleing" with the shims? I have experience adding/removing shims to adjust output pressure from tank and gun regulators, but not on a Mag valve.

    Thanks,
    Rich

Being a skeptical buyer, that's what I was thinking.

      Any other opinions?

He means the level 10. Read the lvl 10 instructions over. If they aren't included with the gun, they are here:

Kinda what i was thinking too. Either to many shims in power tube or carrier is to big (probably that).

i am sceptiable about it but i could see how that could happen (but it shoudlnt need any more "tuning" then just shooting some air through it to get anything lose to reseat or just rebuilding with whats already there to make sure its all seated)

my experance is that when you put a new carrier in you can get a slight leak for a few shots until everything seats.

I would think that it already has the leak. As far as shipping goes, if the marker is packed properly, there should be no problems. I have flown with my Pneumag, if it can survive airport baggage handlers without having to adjust it when I got there, that one should be fine when it gets to you if it has been packed properly. Just my 2 cents though..........

It may be fine if you can tech it, but by the description I would run from that deal and dont look back. There are PLENTY of guns that work just fine right here on this forum. Buy one here instead. Let me know what you want. I have everything.
