    what do i need?

what do i need to be able to run air in my gun instead of co2? I've finally diecided to break down and get it and I need to know what I need to get. Also how much will I be looking at spending to get a pretty decent steup?

By the way I dont have a scuba shop or anyplace where I can rent tanks of air in my town, but the fire department will fill a tank for me, so where can i get a good fill station at, and how much do they usually run

ANY information about running air in your gun/how to do it/best places to shop/what brands to buy/etc... would be greatly appreciated

    1. Buy a tank...
    2. Buy good hoses: Macroline or SS
    3. hook up the filled tank!

If this is your first tank i'd suggest a preset like the PMI Pure Energy nitro tanks Crossfire tanks, or Nitroduck tanks. I think maybe a 68ci/3000psi tank would be good for your purposes. 680 shots is fairly good. I'd first look around for a good tank off AO Classifieds

My feedback if you've dealt with me, leave some...

Ok, I did a little more research on the subject, and I think I understand most of the important points...

my main question now i guess is how exactly does an air tank hook onto my gun? It just screws in like a co2 tank right? or do i need something else to mount it?

Oh by the way, what about fill stations, what would you recommend for tank size, and what ther components do I need?

Also I heard someone talking about tanks being required to be tested or something, what all does thin entail?

        Depends on which one...

Typically, the lower end pre-set tanks have an asa adapter, so they will screw right in where your CO2 tank was before. The more expensive tanks have special regulators and such on them and sometimes take special things to put on a drop forward.

I'd say it depends on how long you play for. If your planning on doing a 5 hour day then get the biggest screw in preset you can find. Because other than that your going to run out and then either have to use c02 as your backup or run to the fire station for a fill.

you need to get a drop forward for a preset if you get an adjustable they ussually come with one I have a daul regulated adjustable by nitro duck its 110ci 4500psi I'm very happy with it and they come with a drop ss braided and proconnect they are exccelent and they have 5 year hydrotest instead of 3 thats the test you were inquiring about I suggest the tuff skin version I also have the AGD flatline 3k but only get about 400 shots the duck gets 1200 I got mine used for $200 with a 1999 date in good shape new they are around 400-500 dollars but get a big tank first then worry about a fill station which will be very expensive for any thing other than scuba oh yeah becarefull of buying used look for damage and the date they can only be filled for 15 years so for 5 year hydro you can test 3 times if you buy a preset you should get a crossfire 200-250 $

oh yeah I almost forgot to tell you with the crossfire you need to watch out they just started making a low pressure version that outputs around 450psi it has a blue colar on the reg I believe DON'T get that you want the high output 900psi it has a red colar I still recomend the nitroduck though and I've heard center flags adjustables are good the flatline is very nice but 68ci is the biggest you can get same with angel air and both are pricey but good

what about size and weight of the tank?

what i mean is how big is each size of tank compared to co2 tanks (or something else common) and how much extra weight does the air add to the tank?

Oh and where do I go to have my tank hydro tested? (thats what its called right) Is there a list of places that will do the testing, or do I mail the tank somewhere, or what?
