    RT Pro Newb Questions

I've been inactive for several years and am gearing up to play with some new coworkers.

Unfortunately, they all play with electronic automatics and I need to keep up. I have an Automag RT Pro with lvl 10 upgrade, but I'm wondering what I can do to make the gun shoot faster.

Would an X-Valve + modified ULE allow me to shoot fully auto? What about just ULE - does the X-Valve really make a difference over my lvl 10? I assume you can modify the ULE to shoot full auto, but that may be incorrect.

Please, lend me your wisdom to this AGD newb. Also, I'll be purchasing a nitro tank soon - any things to look out for besides a high density (4500)?

I'm not sure if you can mod the ULE to shoot faster or not. The X-Valve will help it to shoot faster, especially if you're using HPA. (Actually, you can only use HPA with the X-Valve.) If you put enough shims into the ULE, you might get full-auto, I'm not sure.

changing the number of shims does in fact change your ROF. (unfortunately I'm not sure which way you have to go, more shims = faster or slower) just play with it. also the X-valve is lighter and has a faster recharge rate so I would recommend making the upgrade. there are ways to tune the gun and make it bounce which could possibly give you full auto (and is also illegal in tournies and most walk on fields). but if you get it tuned right you don't need full auto.

You already have a Retro valve, so an X-valve will not give you any improvements. Its basically the same valve except the xvalve is all aluminum. The ULT will make the trigger lighter which may make it easier to pull the trigger faster.

You can add a ULT to your retro valve if it is the type that takes two orings above the on-off top. If your valve only takes 1 oring above the on-off top then you can't install the ULT in your valve.

You can add a shim or two between the on-off halves of your existing valve to simulate a shorter on-off pin which will enhance the RT effect. It could result in rapid fire (full auto effect). Be careful. It may be uncontrollable depending on the number of shims installed.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
