Mag back from AGD, but valve is holding excess pressure-AGD, is this normal?

I got my Mag back from Jon today...it is so sweet! He did a good job. The only thing is...the original prob is still lurking....when I undo the field strip screw and try and back the valve out...there is a lot of pressure still left in it, and its making gurgling noises as I take it out. This is what happened before I sent the marker in, and I snapped a on/off pin trying to get it out, a $17 part. And also, when I tried to figure out the prob, the on/off valve shot off at my just missing my face.(a while ago) Also, this is AFTER I already shoot all the air out of the marker and disconnect the line.

My question is, is the marker supposed to be holding in all this extra pressure? I am afraid to do clean it or take it apart, thinking the on/off could shoot out again, or the pin could get stuck again.

Any solid answers would be appreciated.

Are you pulling the trigger ???

Are you pulling the trigger before you take out the valve? I have had a problem with the on-off pin sticking a little bit, but this seems to take care of it. I have had it make a little poof sound while pulling the valve out when I didn't pull the trigger. May be related...

OK, I just thought of something. The nipple connector for the quick-disconnect on my air line had a check valve in it, allowing the air to flow in but not out....so this might be the prob...so somthing that a standard nipple connection w/out anything inside it would fix? I have that on my mag now, just want to make sure it was the right piece.

That is something for all of us to remember. I never thought about it before, but you obviously don't want anything that will maintain pressure when you attempt to degas the gun.

            Good Observation.

I've been having the same problem with
my minimag, and never thought about that.

Yep, I think my mag's gonna be real happy again. The interesting thing was I got this part(check valve) at PEV's when a guy was helping me out with a hose setup. I asked him if it would interfere with anything. He said no, it wouldn't limit flow. I didn't even think about pressure buildup. Gonna have to tell Rob so he can hand out the good ones
