is there any reason i would need to change my on/off to the thinner pin one with the quad-ring? i'm using e-mag lowers, but my valve has the stock .750 rt on/off. thanks in advance!

The pin diameter is the same for all retro/emag valves. The only difference is that the emag pin is only .712" long instead of .750" long. The quad oring has a more definate contact point closer to the edge and is softer. This allows smoother more consistent operation for the emag solenoid.
You should buy a new emag pin and quad oring. The rest of your on-off assembly is fine.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts. -

Your gun HAS to be shooting lousy with a .750 pin...change it.

Full auto is usually associated with shorter pins.
