Inconsistent tac-one

Hey everyone, iv had my tac one for a few months now, and iv never been able to achieve the consistency in shots that everyone else seems to get. it will jump from 268-240-252 and so on anywhere in that range...
its not paint iv tried it all, with the proper freak inserts and whatnot. iv got a pure energy 68/3000 tank

im lost, someone help me be found

28 fps is a bit larger than you should see with a well fitted paint and Lvl10. Make sure you are checking a lot of the paintballs for consistent size. If not, you may be seeing what I was seeing recently: my Lvl 10 carrier was correctly fitted (the largest that would not leak), but still a bit too snug. You can try using a different o-ring to get a perfect fit.

i know the springs are diffirent strenghts, but what are the ranges, im going to dday in june and they use 250 at night and 285 daytime, will it be able to hit both those. and wouldnt the softer red spring require me to use more air to move the balls?

The short brass spring gives you the most range of velocity, but is generally accepted to be a bit harder on paint (my own experience says that too). The red spring is usually your best bet. I have had problems before trying to use a red spring at 250 and had to go to the brass one. The longest spring, the steel one, requires you be firing at a higher velocity. I have had problems using that one in a marker shooting 285 before.

Now, I have also had the long spring in and had no problems with the velocity set at 285. I have had the red spring in and no problems at 250. My suggestion would be to use the red spring, but know that swapping to the brass one may be required if you have a problem turning the velocity down to 250. More than likely, you will be able to use the red spring at 250.

i just switched carriers and no leaks, and i put in the red spring, had to turn up the velocity to get it to shoot. i have no chrono so ill be testing it next week

well i played on the weekend, and its better, from 270-285. could a flatline 4500 help make it more consistent?

Velocity issues that are not paint related are always regulator problems. Take it apart, clean it, oil it generously. If that doesnt work rebuild it. Make sure you replace the valve spring and reg pin. Sometimes people get cheap and neglect to change them.

okay its been a few months since the first post about this. The problem started to get worse again today so i rebuilt my xvalve at the field. I put new orings new spring and pin...after all that i was still getting 260-300 i even had a spike of 402??? im lost . i tried with or without my remote line, borrowed someone elses tank. diffirent paint, tuning the level 10 again..nothings working

Try the brass colored spring. It's not the gentlest on paint but i have had good luck using it.

Have you removed the piston assembly (in the reg body) and checked the condition of it's O ring? Is the piston well lubricated? Are the 2 springs covered in grease?

yes, yes, yes, and not heavily but enough its all new orings in the reg including piston

Check the spring pack on the the reg valve assembly. Look closely for damaged/broken springs (which are the bellville washers that are stacked up on it)

i checked that already, its in perfect condition
