    boo ya questions

I currently -MIGHT- be in a transaction for an x valved ule mag with a boo ya trigger frame. Although I have never seen, or even researched the boo ya frame, I have heard many reports of faulty electronics. Although I would much rather take a hyper-frame, the seller isnt selling a hyper-frame so please do not sugest that. The owner of the mag will -hopefully (if everything turns out ok)- be giving me the x valve (with the gun) but not tuned to the bolt or the trigger.

The bolt is no problem as I will problly (sorry for my awful spelling) be sending it off to scott to be tuned anyways. But what do I need to buy for the valve to be able to use the trigger. A new on/off? A new pin? Im afraid if I use to small of a pin I could possibly damage my sear, or bolt (as show in a hyper-frame article on warpig.com) Are there any further accesories for the boo ya trigger frame to get it to "optimal" proformance? Charger, batteries, etc.

My last question will be protaining to my recently purchase gold micro emag.
Where can I buy a 12 volt wall charger to charge the battery? I saw a pic of one with a radio shack label, if I "can" use one from radio shack does any one currently know the "item number" of the charger needed?

Thanks for your time, and consideration.

You'll need a ULT kit for your valve. As for the bolt wear, there isn't really much you can do about it.

And, wait. You bought the actual Gold Plated, not gold anodized micro emag?! Nice find either way.

You'll need the ULT for your valve on/off. As for the Boo Ya, some have been just fine, others could be flaky. If there are any problems, I'm sure somebody here could fix it up for you...

      The charger I have is:

      Radio Shack AC Adapter

      Cat. No. 273-1779

      Input: 120VAC 60HZ 28W
      Output: 12VDC 1500mA

      Hope that helps

When you turn it on it says "beware of the man with the golden gun"

On the hyperframe review it showed that the mag expereinced wear on the sear, and bolt when the on/off pin wasnt the right size. Can this happen with the boo ya.

              Boo-yaah pros and cons

              Nice MicroEmag!

I've had a Boo-yaah on my original first Automag before I got my PumpMag. The Boo-yaah did have issues when I used it.

Sometimes the Boo-yaah wouldn't shoot at the worst times.

I had to watch out for the Boo-yaah on-off pin assembly, sometimes the o-ring swells up as it ages and causes too much friction with the on-off pin. Also check the wires on the board from time to time, they are very fragile and may break, I've had to resolder them back to the board.

If you shoot this a lot, your bolt and sear will wear out (I used the Level 7 Bolt on this). Be prepared to have new ones handy in your parts kit.

Those were the cons I've experienced shooting it.

Now here are the pros I've experienced shooting it.

Always turned heads. Every single ref that has held, chronographed, or saw it, would complement how awesome it looked.

The frightened look on your competitors face: Priceless.

I was able compete with other electros at a decent 13 bps with semi, burst, turbo, or full-auto abiltiy!

My Automag won with it a local field:

              Field of Fire
              3rd place 1 vs 1 Oct. 18, 2003
              1st place 1 vs 1 Nov. 15, 2003
              2nd place 1 vs 1 Mar. 13, 2004

Individual skills are always more important for 1 vs 1s, but this did help me shoot strings of paint in semi mode and keep up against E-cockers and Timmys back then.

I still have it, but I play with my PumpMag almost always these days. Also note that the company no longer exists - factory support and replacement parts are no longer available.

Make sure you turn it off and barrel bag it before leaving the field, the trigger is so light, it can fire by accident just by bumping the marker.

The Booyah and Hyperframe will not wear your sear. The article on warpig was on the Hyperframe and orignal on/off which didn't allow for the propper sear engagement . A ULT or RT type on/off is all you need. I have had my 20bps Hyperframe with over 20,000 balls through it and had no visable sear or bolt wear.

Hey thanks everybody. One last question. What are the modes on the boo ya? I know the capped speed is 15.

                    See bold above for modes.
there are two buttons and they should take you through menus that you can read on the display. I recommend a 9.6V rechargeable as a 9V doesn't last very long in them (at least the Mako Storm I had was that way)

Hm... could you recharge the batteries right through the grip? IE. Many spyders, omen, etc. Or did you have to actually take the battery out and put in a new one.

                      !!!EDIT!!!

I found a 14 volt charger for my micro emag. Can I use it to chrage up the AGD charger?

I wouldn't since the AGD charger is designed to handle a 12V input. I may work, but it also may burn out the charger.

I don't know, you might be able to charge it in the grip but you may have to remove it.

I shot way less than that at 13bps with the Booyah on/off and wore out 2 sears with noticable wear on the bolt as well which contributes to the sensitive hair trigger.

I always got best results taking the batteries out and charging overnight.

Yeah that's why the ULT or RT on/offs are the only way to go. Most people don't understand how to set them up propperly so they stay at bargin prices.
