    Heat shrink Tubing Resource?

I am looking into getting some heat shrink that is better/ longer than what you can get at the local hardware guys stores. I have found one source for the stuff in 4ft lengths. It is around 4-6$ per piece with a minimum of 85$ per order.

We supply the border region and beyond with high-grade and quality heat shrink tubing for various application needs.

I may move this to the BST forum and just find some people to go in with me on it BUT I was hoping someone could tell me where I can get the stuff for a reasonable price. I am wanting the good stuff that won't crack over time. Black is really all I need. Anyone?

I was thinking of getting a larger amout say 40-50 ft or 100ft and reselling the extra but all I need is about 10ft. for now and then more in the future.

I've gotten some from this guy on Ebay

    Link to Ebay Store

He ships fast, has a variety of colors, and the quality is decent.

I just noticed his prices have gone up since I last ordered, but they still aren't too bad.

umm If theres an electrical supply store in your area you can try there as thats where heatshrink is most commonly used. That or if you have an industrial products wholesaler in your area they will more than likey carry it as well

Do you guys use 1/2 or 3/4 inch stuff? Anyone tried the adhesive lined stuff? What about clear does it look cool? Thanks for the tip to the guy on ebay. I will also try the local electrical supplier.

1/2" diameter 2:1 ratio shrinks down nicely on standard steel braided hoses.

I haven't tried the adhesive lined. He didn't have it last time I ordered and even now I see it's more expensive and only comes in 11" lengths. That stuff does look nice though, it seems to be a bit darker black.

The standard stuff looks pretty good and keeps the SS hoses from scratching up your markers when it rubs against them. Using a heatgun yields the best results, but I've found a candle will work if you don't have access to one. The heatgun makes it easier to heat evenly and avoid any bubbles.

I have no idea how the clear looks, but I would definitely be interested in seeing it.

If you try going bigger it wont shrink down all the way. Its only designed to shrink so much. So get the smallest size that will fit over the macroline. Clear shrink tube is just clear shrink tube nothing special about it, It doesnt go perfectly clear either but pretty close.

            Heh beat me to it

Some shrink tubing shrinks down 2 to 1, some 3 to 1 and ocassionally 4 to 1.

Sounds like that might be the stuff that cracks over time. Ever had any problems with it?

I hear the 3:1 stuff is really thick when you shrink it down. Anyone try it and like it?
