can't seem to keep reg body tight

    hi all,

new to mags, recently got my 1st (a tac-one), and am getting acquainted with it...

one of the first things i noticed is that, when the regulator nut (velocity adjuster) is turned counter-clockwise, the entire back half of the valve (the regulator body) loosens as well.

i've tried re-tightening the reg body so that the painted lines match up again, but it always seems to move again later on as velocity is adjusted up & down...

i realize that the reg body can only move so far because of the pin (right word?) on the side of it, but i was wondering if what's happening is normal?

should i try to really tighten the reg body?

or should i just not worry about it...

    thanks in advance!

If you are talking about that little 1/8" (or less) misalignment, it should not go any further. Just know that it is going to happen and will reduce your velociy like that much of a turn of your reg adjustment. It is lowering the spring pack pressure on the reg pin. The misalignment is equal to the little notch in the rail that the reg locator goes in. If you keep your reg oring lubed, this happens. I haven't noticed this in my x-valve yet, but it's typical of the older valves.

Rear frame screw should be finger tightened.
