Brand new tac one - chopping paint

Hi- I am new to automags... I purchased my mag from airgun.com. I understand the lvl-10 it is factory tuned, but I have chopped some paint (using marbalizers and allstars)... any suggestions of what to look for?

    Thanks

Try manually missfeeding balls into the breach when you are at home or in between games. Hold the ball halfway into the breach and fire (keep your fingers of of there though). You might get a couple which will break right away but try it with a few balls and try at least 2 different brands. If the majority are breaking send it back to AGD to fix (they have a 90 day warranty) or you can try to retune it yourself.

How badly have you been chopping paint? What conditions were you playing in? What loader are you using? How fast are you firing? What barrel are you using? Not using co2 I assume?
Are you getting a few "chuffs" of the level 10 kicking in before you break a ball? If you get a ball that won't feed completly, the level 10 will bounce off of it only a few times before it smashes right through it.

if he has a tac one he'd better be using air b/c it's an x-valve. you might need to increase the spring tension so that there's more pushing back on the bolt for the softer paints. the other way would be to go down a carrier size for more bolt drag but be careful doing that. the tourney paints are much more brittle and so if you do that test try them against some normal stuff. you'll be alright. tac one's are awesome.

sorry- I should have given more info. I have the Warp Left Tac-One . Im running HPA and also using the stock barrel. I would say it chops one out of 200 shots... Didnt expect it to chop any.... I also tried using the Stiffi Switch kit and it chops everytime so I gave that up.

I will try changing the sprin and hand feeding the balls.

Thanks for the response (btw- I love the gun)

Yes, use a stiffer spring to reduce the force on the ball. Don't use a tighter carrier. That only leads to bolt stick problems.

Are you sure its a chop and not a barrel break? Try some different balls just to be sure its not the balls.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

The more info about your set-up that you give us, the more help we can give you!

            Do you have a warp?
            A loader?

If so, the set-up will require some tweeking

I have a warp with an eggy. I not only have paint in the barrel but all over the spring as well. I will try the larger spring.. that would be the sliver one right? The package came with a sliver spring and a red spring.

At this point, I highly recommend removing the warp from your system, and getting the LX to work with just the eggy. Once you get the LX tuned are running great, incorporate the Warp.

You got s lot going on there for an AGD newbie

yea, busting your balls is no fun...

in all seriousness, make sure the paint isnt to big for the barrel.

is your warp run on a single 9v or two? if the answer is only 1 it might be that you are outshooting the 9v warp system... the level 10 should engage and you're good as long as it's tuned for soft paint but if you have a fast trigger or want to shoot looong strings of paint you might wanna step up to a 12v mod for your warp...

                        Warp left Tac, tiiiight!

Try replacing the batery in your warp. If the warp is feeding correctly then you are breaking paint from bolt impact or a dirty barrel. This shouldn't be a problem since pre level 10 guns didn't break that much paint. Try some different paint. Take your barrel off and old it close to a light and loock down. Make sure there isn't a spec inside.
