E-Mag - new battery needed?

Have been trying to get my E-Mag up and running again after a long period of no use. Having problems tuning the Lvl10 at the moment (different story) but have found that I'm getting 'low batt' messages despite the battery being freshly charged.

After a charge the battery is reporting 16-17v, however with load I get 14.....which rapidly drops into the 12s (see pic below). Do I need to pickup a new battery?

Sadly...yes.

Seems you need a new battery. I'll bet one (or more) cells is toast in your pack.

might i suggest building your own battery pack? they are much more affordable than buying a new one or having one built. there pretty easy too, just tear up your current one.

you should be able to find someone who can set you up with a Lithium ion battery that will fit..

just curious, what size cells are used in the factory emag pack?

they are 650 mah aaa's, NiCd i believe?

Not nicad...Nickel Metal Hydride...way superior to NiCd.

oh ya duh, NiCd just stuck in my head. NiMh is also what i used for my self built pack. great stuff

There are lots of 1000mah AAA NiMh batteries around at decent prices. You can easily make your ouwn pack. I bought 24 for $10.00 just recently. That makes a cheap battery pack.

i have a great source for other parts needed for the making of a pack. battery bars, shrink wrap , etc. i dont have it with me since im at school but i think i have it bookmarked on my pc or laptop. ill let you guys know
