    Flatline

I just won a 3000 psi Flatline on eBay,

    This page claims:
AGD Flatline, it is important that you pay attention and read directions on what you can use. The AGD Flatline is not a mere bottle, but it is the regulator hooked up to the bottle. There are two different regulators, a 68 cubic inch and a 47 cubic inch. DO NOT cross these, use a 68 cu with a 68 cu tank, and a 47cu with a 47 cu tank. Pictured is the AGD Flatline 68cu 3000psi
It appears he may be right:

What i want to do is put the Flatline on a Wevo 22cu/3000 2inch tank for my new tac-1 longbow.

    Will this work?

I figure ~300-400 shots is a days work via the 20 round longbow magazine

I have wanted one of Tom's regulators for awhile now!

      Interesting...

It makes no sense what-so-ever to me that the capacity of the bottle would have an effect on the regulator. Hmm...

One thing to remember, is a Mag runs at 800 or-so PSI, so a 3k tank only supplies about 2k of usable air.

          doc_Zox,

where did you find this quote?

I have the AGD Flatline instructions, and it makes no mention of that...

Thats all Bull crap. There are 2 Flatline regulators. A 3000 and a 4500. Either will fit/work on their respective 3000/4500 tanks of any size.

The tank will shoot the mag all the way down to 600-700 psi left in the tank.

                  dats what i figured!

unless theres a specific neck thread
The regulator should work on any bottle

I'm thinking a 22/3000 flatline will be pretty unique

for the big drink I have a 110/3000

                      True Dat,

But w a LX set-up,things get goofy when the pressure threshhold drops. Chuffing and a failure for the (LX) bolt to reset are telltail signs that the tank pressure has dropped below a usable level.

Much depends on the particular gun & set-up.

                        Thanks :-)

Sounds to me like the quote in the first post came from someone who was confusing volume with pressure.

There were two versions of the Flatline - one for 3,000 psi and one for 4,500 - putting a 4,500 on a 3,000 psi tank would be dangerous, because it would have the wrong burst disk rating, and could allow the tank to be overfilled. Putting a 3,000 on a 4,500 psi tank would be fine - as long as it was only filled to 3,000 psi - filling to 4,500 would go beond what the reg is rated for, and possibly blow the burst disk (I've seen someone hospitalized for having their hand near one when it blew - their hand inflated like a baloon.)

i have my parts, but the flatline is really adhered to the fiber wrapped tank...

whats the best way to get the regulator off?

I'm kind of leary about using my propane smoke wrench

DO NOT use a torch! You'll ruin the bottle!

To remove a (flatline) regulator, I tighten the regulator in a lathe chuck (the reg is wrapped with fine emery paper, grit AWAY from the reg) and loosen the bottle with a strap wrench. I remove any gauges and/or fittings that are in the way.

When I re-install the bottle on the reg, I grease the threads, and only screw it on "snug". That way, it's much easier to get off the next time. Air pressure "locks" the bottle on, no problem.

You can re-build the reg WITHOUT removing the bottle. Do you have the AGD instructions?

I heated the FL up with a hairdryer and gave it a good wookie push on the strap wrench while the other hand twisted the bottle

it came right off once i exceeded the torque used to put it on

There was nothing on the threads

What is the torque setting for a tank install?
                              150 foot pounds?

My 22/3000 flatline looks pretty cool
