    Some Problems

    Hello all,

I have been a die hard AGD/Minimag fan since I retired my old Autococker back in 1993. I have a 14 year old minimag that still works fine (for the most part, more to come on this).

Now that my 11 year old son is old enough to play, I recently bought him a brand new Minimag.

There have been few changes in the gun in 14 years. While I did not particularly order the evel 10 bolt, I think I got one on the gun anyway. I did not necassarily want one because I remember the days of the pre level 7 bolts when mag owners woud shoot the foamys out the barrel. I never wanted that trouble and the Level 10 has a foamy.

I have not had any foamy issues though, what I am seeing and has me concerned is a totally different feel for the trigger and as a result a probem with the gun.

As I first stated, this new gun requires a great deal more force to fire the gun than the older gun does. Additionally, it seems to "short stroke" from time to time. If the trigger is not pulled all the way, then the bolt moves forward, but does not fire, essentially double loading the gun.

The other problem I really started seeing more of today was that the gun was double firing. Almost like it has an autoresponse trigger, but I know it was not ordered with one and I did not put one on. This behaviour happens no matter if I run HPA, or CO2 through the gun.

Is this something I should send the gun back to AGD to check out? As I said the gun is brand new, but the performance is just not what I see out of the older gun. BTW, I have a classic valve on it, you know the A.I.R valve system.

On an alternative note. I am experiencing an issue with the older gun as well. Today, it started leaking air out through the velocity adjustment screw. If I turned the screw back and forth, it would stop. What do I need to do for that one?

Any help anyone can give would be helpful. We are not playing for the next few weeks so if I should send in these guns, now would be a good time.

    Thanks in advance

    First, your gun,

venting out the back is an indication that the velocity is set too high, the piston O ring is worn/dry or the piston iself has failed.

    Kid's gun,

Because it's new, everything could just be a little tighter? (just a guess)

If it indeed has an LX bolt, there might be a need for some tweeking. At the top-left of this page you'll find detailed LX instructions in the tab labeled "resources"
