Is there a way to test the emag noid? I have been having problems with my emag not firing in e mod. Will fire mechanically, check the noid plunger (noid plunger is a bit long, but its not being held down by the noid) and sear length all good. Check the battery and its up to the 18 volts. I am thinking it might be a worn out noid. Board version is 1.39

Phizz to test the polarity of the noid you get a small compass and face your marker either east or west with the compass under the grip frame (ASA removed) With the plunger up fire the marker. The attraction of the noid should make the compass move to point north. If it points south your noid wires are crossed (not uncommon from AGD). Desolder the wires and switch them. Even if the wires are crossed your marker should fire in E. The effect of the polarity being wired in south will make your HES miss read it for a trigger pull and give your a trigger bounce effect at high rates offire. I would check the board grounding screw and all the connections first.
Also the plunger rod length is critical. You might also want to clean out the noid with brasso or any type of metal polish along with a shot of electrical cleaner.

disconnect the solenoid and put an ohm meter across the leads. 2.8-3.0 ohms is what you want.Comment

Tunaman again a huge help!! I tested the noid in the marker and it was only 00.8, I had an extra one that has a dent in my spare parts bin and it said 3.1, now I just have to put that in and hopefully (fingers crossed it works)Last edited by phizz; 04-27-2007, 01:11 AM.Comment
