20 oz CO2 tank hydro testing

This might sound like a dumb question but do 20 oz CO2 tanks need to be hydro tested? And if so when?

Only one more question do any other sizes of CO2 tanks need to be tested?

I am only asking cause I am going to a big game in march and what to know if I have to get a new tank or not ( the date on my 20 oz tank is 5@95)

Every 5yrs by HSE standard, probably about the same for DOT. Get it done every 4 years just to be safe.

I checked on this a few years ago with Transport Canada. Tanks over 0.5l do require retesting. Can't remember the frequency for certain though.

I e-mailed TC Regulators about bringing HPA tanks back home to Canada earlier this year. The gentleman who helped was Pascal Verville. His e-mail is listed at http://www.tc.gc.ca/tdg/contacts/asdd.htm

      Good luck.

Has anyone ever gotten a co2 tank tested? Where did you send it and how much was it?

It amazes me that given the thousands of co2 tanks being used in our sport that I've never heard any definitive answers on these questions on any paintball discussion forum.

When i had to replace my tank, it wasnt worth sending it off for testing, so i just got myself a new Co2.

The only tanks that you really get tested are HPA tanks cos they cost a ****e load.
