Gas Efficiency Lvl 7 vs. Lvl X ???

Maybe it is not tuned right, or maybe my guage is off on my tank, but I seem to "End my tank" at about 1200 psi with my Lvl X bolt. Now don't get me wrong, I have played twice this year and shot about a case and a half and haven't broken a ball, but I could shoot down to about 800 psi on my Lvl 7 bolt, and really never had a ball break problem.

So I am considering going back to my Lvl 7 bolt, just for the efficiency. Maybe because they only had 3000-3500 psi at the field yesterday, but wanted to see what others thought on the subject...

You will get better gas milage from your L10 bolt with the lighter(stock) spring than you will if you use the red or heavy spring. Apples to apples L10 = more efficent than L7 bolt in my experience. L10 with red or heavy spring compared to L7 with stock spring, L7 wins. Hope this helps.

1200 psi is more than enough - either your gauge is off or your bolt is not properly tuned.

To increase the efficiency of a Level 10 bolt:

-Use the loosest carrier O-ring setup that doesn't leak

-Use the shortest spring possible that doesn't break/chop the paint you use

-Use a barrel with minimum porting and a good paint to barrel fit

Also, Level 10 is not more efficient than Level 7. Level 7 is 5-10% more efficient than Level 10.

In my experience L10 got better milage than the L7 if you use the same spring on both. If you put a heavyer spring on the L10 then the L7 got better milage, that's why i said if you compare apples to apples.
