How to clean dried up oil?

I got some dried oil on my powertube was wondering the best way to clean that?

I was thinking some very hot water and a rag?

That's one way. The other way is to remove the rubber bumper and just hit the metal with a spray on degreaser. Then wipe it down. I've got some stuff called LPS Electro Contact Cleaner. Does wonders at removing old oil and grease. I used it when refurbishing an old AIR valve that was quite gummed up, and relubed everything from scratch.

Some WD40 or oil paint thinner on a rag or paper towel will make short work of it. Wipe off well and you're ready for new oil.

          Varsol works well too.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Yep, very close cousin to the oil paint thinner and probably the same solvent or close to it as in the WD40.

I'd say the cleanup suggestions are covered. Once you get that fixed, I always suggest KC Trouble Free to people. One time I left a marker untouched for years with that stuff in it and it didn't dry out.
