    Tac One X-valve/lvl10 problem

    Hey guys

Just bought my Tac One a few weeks ago, used... First thing i did was take the 88ci tank/drop forward off and run the lines for a remote setup. Before I did all this, when I shot it at the field with the drop forward, it was leaking air down the barrel, which is likely because it hadn't been tuned correctly. The first thing I did was take the shims out at which point it stopped leaking and worked fine.

Then the next time i went to gas up it started leaking... this time through what I thought was the air nipple that goes directly into the valve. I took out the valve/bolt assembly and checked all the rings, carrier, etc etc... cleaned everything, put it back together... gassed up, and it didn't leak. Time passes by, and basically, it has been leaking sometimes when I gas up and sometimes it is fine... but if I pull the trigger ALMOST to the point of firing it, it will stop leaking (i am assuming because it is bleeding the gas into the chamber and the pressure isn't as significant in the reg) Also, if it doesn't leak initially... it will start after sitting for a bit while gassed up.

Unfortunately, I had to play most of Oklahoma D-Day 07' like this yesterday.... holding the trigger almost to firing point... SUCK! it also was not shooting 100% when fired, of course.

Today I came home and took it apart.... cleaned it, checked everything again, gassed up... fixed a few minor air leaks in my fittings, and it worked great, shot probably 300-400 balls through it, the RT was noticeably performing better... and I thought that I had finally seated something correctly or maybe that the air leaks were my entire problem... then i went to the driving range, came back... and boom... leaking again. This time I used some soapy water and realized that the air isn't leaking out of my threads on the air nipple, it is leaking out from the cracks between the main body and the valve/bolt assembly...

Could it be my on/off...? It isn't leaking down the barrel at all, which makes me want to say that its not my carrier (At this point I have changed carriers back to the 2groove carrier and 2 shims). I am really stumped on this one! HELP

Keep in mind this is my first HPA gun and my first mag... so go easy on me if its a simple fix! Im thinking a parts kit and completely replace everything is my next step, I should probably go ahead and do that anyways... but I would like to know if there is any fix out there otherwise!

    Thanks,

    - Jason

It could be one of the orings in your on-off assembly. It would be one of the two bottom ones (the large outer one or the tiny one inside). Check for dirt and clean. Replace if necessary.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
