there is really nothing different between the 2. my pmi is at most 1/2 an inch longer than a crossfire stub. i see no reason spending more on a stubby. just get the cheapest one u can find.

        Think of fingers

The stubby is short and fat like a thumb and a standard (non stubby) is longer and skinnier.

Stubby's are steel tanks, others are fibre-wrapped.

High strength steel tank can be smaller, for the same pressure, than a fibre-wrap, which requires much material to achieve the same strength level.

BTW, Crossfire and PMI use the same tank (made in Canada), but different valves.

I've got a Crossfire 51 c.i. steel tank, and it's pretty stubby. It's smaller and lighter than a wrapped 48, and it will probably fit in your harness. Oh yeah, it was also a lot cheaper.

A stubby tank can also be size 88. It would have the dimensions with the length of a 68 and the width of a 114. Hope this helps.

This is not true, you can get a fiber wrapped stub. It just depends on what you call a stub tank.

No its an 88 fiberwrapped. Go to paintballgear.com and they have 88ci 3000 PMI tanks for 169 and 4500 tanks for 190 i think.
