X-Mag and a Compressed Air tank.

Forgive me for this newb question. I am an avid airsofter but find it increasingly hard to play when games are scheduled. Prior to airsoft I was a mag guy using co2, circa 1995-1999. I have recently purchased an X-mag so that I can play either sport time permitting. My question now relates to Compressed air. I am in a position to purchase the following:

Pure energy 68/45 tank High Pressure tank that looks like it was used for an ETek Ego Black (everything stock except with virtue, and crit trigger). I asked the gentleman what the output pressure is and he was unable to tell me other than "lol srry i dun know, bt i think it depends on the vlocity of ur gun, n ur asa"

Will this work for the x-mag or do I need to do something special to it. What information should I be looking at on the tank to ensure that it will work. I'm new to this compressed air stuff and am getting quite confused at what I should be purchasing. I went to my local store and am quite unhappy with the service that I received from the "punks" that are behind the counter. Searching online has confused me since I'm not sure what I should be looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

    thanx

any xvalved mag will need hpa(aka nitro, n2, compressed air). They all require an output pressure of ~800 from your tank to function correctly. Most HP regs are in the 800-850 range so you should be alright. If you want to get optimal preformance out of your mag you will install a reg that will allow you to have 1000 psi output from your tank. This can be done with a ireg, air americian adjustable, angel air, most adjustable regs. AGD makes an adjustable that works wonderful with their markers.

    Hope this helps

      Pure Energy tanks are easy.

Is the reg of the tank blue or red?

If it's blue, it is an HP output tank, so it's putting out about 800psi of air. This is the tank that you need for your Mag.

If it's red, it's an LP output tank, which is giving out about 350-400 psi of air.

DO NOT BUY A PURE ENERGY REGULATOR OR TANK

THEY ARE CRAP AND YOU WILL NOT GET THE PERFORMANCE YOU WANT.

If you want over ~13 bps you need a nice reg that will recharge fast. Pure energy is not good for this. I know because I own one, and it sucks, and all my friends that own one regret getting theirs.

Thanx all for the quick responses. I appreciate the info.
Hmm, are they that bad? I guess the old adage rings true. I was getting a fantastic deal on one. I guess its time to find another deal or buy a new one. Any recommendations?

          thanx

I would never buy tank with a gun since it is too much hastle. Does it work? IS it good? is it past hydro date? is the seller SMART enough to ship it empty?
Among all that a tank is listed as a dangerous good and is regulated by law, hence the DOT number (US) or the TC number (Canada).

Honestly, I don't know what mostpeople is talking about. I've used my PE tank on my Fusion on 20bps ramp with a full Halo, and not had a single problem.

They are just fine. By no means are they the best, but they work well.
