    Frame Idea

I think I stumbled on something but its probably been thought of already. But I remember my old Sypder SE had a 45* frame on it that you could take the handle off it for unknown reasons. THIS IS NOT A QUESTION OF HOW TO PUT A SYPDER FRAME ON A MAG, but using that fact that you can remove the handle of frame from a say 45* and put something like a Z-grip handle on instead. The trigger guard could be almost like a hinge from where it connects to the top of the frame and pin on where it would connect to the handle.

I know it sounds confusing maybe some pictures are in order.

the trigger angle would have to change with the angle of the grip, which makes it too unpractical to do. In order to change the trigger angle, you would have to have some type of lockable hinge on the trigger itself, adding to the sloppiness of a trigger.

besides, those removable handles are held on with screws too. You could just unscrew and screw on a new frame just as easily as removing the grip.

Got to think about that one.

But if the handle was made out of a plastic it would be cheaper then buying a bunch of different frames.

Was thinking some more about this and its really going against the whole idea of "whatever is comfy for you" Cause whats the purpose of buying different handles like a 45 when your comfy with a Z-grip.

i'm going to brdge the gap here between your idea swampy and another similar problem which already has a solution.

look at the AR-15 (oh noooos! a real gun!!??) and the way the pistol grip is held in place. Essentially there are already hundreds of aftermarket grip frames available for the AR platform, why not make a frame that accepts these grips?

        I pondered this yesterday.

good idea, I like your thinking.
