    Remote Trigger Idea

    Hey all,

I've been contemplating a new project which I'd like to keep secret until the time comes when I either build it or share it for someone else to try.

The project requires the sear to be tripped remotely. Do you think using a solenoid (try to find a cheap board/noid etc for something, is a tippmann noid strong enough) would work? Then just run the switch wire extra long? what wire would you recommend for that?

Any other ideas on how this could be accomplished?

    Thanks
    Ty

    pneumatically.

The perfect spot for the person who likes to build their own markers or tinker.

search up pneumags, there's tons of info on them and they would be perfect for what you're trying to do.

Big n' slow, I'd never thought of running a mag upside down, great idea!!

Where'd you get that mount that goes in place of the trigger? I need one like that but I have no access to a machine shop around here anymore.

Thanks fellas, That's looking like a good idea

I would flip through the ego and spyder mag design threads to see the limits of how much solenoid or power you need. Having "unlimited" electrical power and space in a vehicle would open the design up completely. The problem with bigger solenoids is that they generally get slower as they get bigger.

If its something portable, I would stick with the ego mag internals and try a garage door opener switch or something else wireless. I hate dealing with wires on on the field. Depending on your distance, the wires may need to be large (12-14awg).

I saw an RC/camera operated marker a while back, that's why I'm thinking long distance.

I fabbed that up myself. just a small piece of U channel milled out to fit the ram and some holes to fit the rail. Patients and a dremel might work, but a mill does help
