ive seen a couple threads about integrating a warp feed into a loader for a smaller package, or other similar ideas and it got me thinking could you just make a new raceway/catchcup (ive heard it called both, but the blue cup that the drive cone and paddles spin inside of. but the part i am getting to is the tube that comes off of the catchcup and leads the balls down into the feedneck) so that instead of having the balls go to the middle of the loader and down they go to the right and up at about say a 60* angle. all that you would have to do is drill through the shell to let the tube out, then use warp hose and adapters to move the balls from there to the feedneck of your marker. the only problem with this idea that i can see is that the halo might not be able to put enough force on the balls to push them steadily and speedily up the incline.
so i have a request to you halo owners could you take a length of tubing and stick it on the feedneck of the loader and bend it around so that the tube comes up verticle beside the loader and have 5inches of verticle tubing (i believe that 5 inches would be around the worst case senario for a length of tubing to reach the feedneck) and see if the loader can push the balls out and at what rate, it would be much appreciated
if the tubing test is a go i think the next step would be to make a prototype of the loader by purchasing a halo and altering the raceway tube (talked about in 1st paragraph) by cutting it at the catchcup part and rotating the feed tube to the desired angle and melting it back together using a heat gun (can melt plastic but just get it maluable) and stiching it back together like putting two bone dry pieces of pottery together before fireing you use a stiff wire and pull the clay together using a stiching motion. i understand it would be a fairly weak connection but it wouldn't see alot of stress so i dont think that it would be a problem. and drill the need hole(s) through the shell to acomodate the new feedneck. i could even cut off the old feedneck and fill in the hole with more plastic.
for mounting i can make a metal frame to attatch to the gripframe of a marker that would clamp around the body of the loader or i could even use longer screws and add an exta nut to weld to. but that is still on the drawing board.
but if i could get someone to do the tubing test i would be very grateful because if it doesnt work there is no reason for me to have a halo because ive already got a revy and a warp feed which are plenty fast for me.
thanks AO
