    converting EUROPEAN PLUG to US PLUG

    I have a heat gun that I reciently aquired the unfortunate thing is that it has a plug end like pictured and I live in the US. Can I just cut off the european plag and wire up a us plug?

    What voltage rating is the heat gun? If it's 240 volts or thereabouts, then no, unless you have a step up transformer.

        Yup. The only way you are going to get that thing to work is to buy a transformer that changes 110V AC @ 60Hz to 220-230V AC @ 50Hz. It sucks, i know... I've thrown away a brand new and perfectly good power supply away because i can't use it to charge my imported lithium halo battery.

          yea it is about a $200 heat gun and I can get two more. apparently where I work could not figure out how to make them work. I would hate for them to get thrown away.
