    ..Dovetail rail specification...

I've looked everywhere I can and it seems my google-fu has let me down. Can anyone here please provide me with a link to the Dovetail rail specification (i.e. measurements). I want to add one or two to my marker design, but can't find the spec for the life of me.

There is not an industry standard, although I think there should be.

The dove tail is cut with a 60* cutter.

    I cut mine .1000" deep.

the width at the wide point is about .5500"

Does that make sense without a drawing?

      there are a few standards

weaver rail, 22 rifle rail & Picatinny

A Weaver rail mount (Picatinny type) is a system to connect telescopic sights and other accessories to rifles, shotguns, pistols, archery bows, etc.
The only difference between the Picatinny rail and the Weaver rail is the size of these slots, although many rail-grabber-mounted accessories can be used on either type of rail. Weaver rails have a slot width of 0.180 in (4.572 mm), but are not necessarily consistent in the spacing of slot centers. The Picatinny locking slot width is 0.206 in (5.232 mm) and the spacing of slot centers is 0.396 in (10.058 mm).[1] Because of this, Weaver devices will fit on Picatinny rails, but Picatinny devices will not always fit on Weaver rails.[1]

Picatinny rails are now offered by Weigand for various applications. Picatinny rails are generally used for Military type applications for uniformity in optics and accessory mounting

OK, so what does your post have to do with "DOVE TAIL" mounts?

where the on off slides on to the dove tail , the fit is so nice when raw , when annoing just the couple .000 it removes from both parts makes it loose , this is the reason i'm using direct mount on/offs now

Oh. I didn't actually know anodizing removes aluminium. I always thought it adds a layer to the work piece, thus making it thicker.
