    UL mag frame Tutorial...

    well I made a UL framed mag and I like it alot, if you wish to perform this modification yourself I will take you as far as instalation of the frame itself onto the marker...

    tools you will need :

    - file, a nice flat one
    - dremel with a ball end bit, and a shaving bit
    - clamping device of some sort, benchtop C clamps, or a bench vise will do








    step 1: get a pm5 ultralight frame, they can most easily be found new, however they are not cheap, for whatever reason I dont know considering pm5's are obsolete. PM5 frame fits the best as it is already flat on top and it is the shortest from front to back, plus the holes match the closest.

    step 2: remove everything from the frame; grips, screws, trigger, board. Basically take it to bare bones (just the frame) so that you can begin modifying it to fit the marker.

    step 3: clamp it down and begin filing the rear frame screw hole so that it becomes flat and level

    step 4:
    once the rear of the frame has a level spot for your thumbscrew to sit you will need to clear space for the round edge of your thumbscrew by taking a dremel and very carefully creating space for it so that it will sit flush and even. I consider the rear thumbscrew very important so make sure the space is flush and level so that the screw sits snugly, an uneven surface could lead to you crossthreading or stripping your valve if your not careful, and its not fun having to purchase a new X valve

    step 5: after you finish the rear to your satisfaction move onto the front screw hole, you will notice that the normal hole is too far forward to line up with the mag body hole. So take the shaving bit on your dremel (kind of looks like a drill bit without the pointed tip) and begin shaving away at the hole, moving slowly towards the trigger. Check every so often so you dont go too far. I also leveled off the surface a tad to make it more snug.

    step 6: modify the front of the frame to allow room for your vertical adapter to fit (AM/MM length), I had to shave the front of my frame quite a bit so that my 15* asa would fit. If you are using E-Mag length I think you can skip this step.

    step 7: the rest is up to you and your imagination
